2008 Nomination and Ballot Information

Dear ILCA Member,
On behalf of the Board of Directors I am pleased to present
the 2008 ballot for election of Directors. There are three
offices available:
Director of External Affairs: Identifies governmental
and non-governmental organizations worldwide whose goals and
objectives impact the lactation consultant profession and
works to ensure that ILCA has a voice in these
organizations. Oversees all Board-appointed ILCA Liaisons to
these global organizations. In addition, oversees the Ethics
and International Code Committee.
Director of Professional Development: Identifies
professional development needs of the ILCA membership and
works to improve availability of resources. Works with
Conference Staff and Education Coordinator and oversees the
Professional Development Committee and Conference Program
Committee
Treasurer: Oversees ILCA’s budgets and financial
planning and the Finance and Scholarship Committees.
Please take the time to read the candidate’s personal
statements and vote for your choice. Please also find on the
ballot for the Best Article to appear in the 2007 issues of
the Journal of Human Lactation
• The deadline for receipt of your ballot at the ILCA
office is April 15, 2008.
A sincere thank you to all members who expressed interest in
running for the Board. Thank you as well to Suzanne Cox,
Past President, and the members of the Nominations
Committee. We thank them for their tireless work and
generous contribution of their time and energy.
The ILCA Board would like to thank each of you for your

** Please be reminded that the By-Laws were changed in April
2007, by vote of the ILCA membership, to confer voting
privileges only to those ILCA members who are also IBCLC:
3.4 VOTING RIGHTS. Individual members who are currently
certified as International Board Certified Lactation
Consultant, and who have paid their membership dues shall be
entitled to one vote on each matter submitted to vote of the
members. All questions shall be decided by a majority of
those voting, except as otherwise provided by the laws of
the State of Virginia, USA, or in these By-laws.
