Submissions for Speaking at the Las Vegas Conference

The Speaker Submission site opens on September 15, 2007 and will close on November 1, 2007, at which time the Conference Program Committee will begin their blind review of proposals. Submitters of Speaker Proposals will receive notification via email by December 15, 2007 of whether their work has been selected for presentation. Selected speakers must confirm participation by December 30, 2007. If you have not received email notification by December 16, 2007, please contact Heather Blanken at .

2008 ILCA Speaker Guidelines

1. All information presented during Conference Sessions must conform to the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes and Subsequent WHA Resolutions.
2. For the benefit of submission reviewers and Conference attendees, please ensure that the presentation content is reflected accurately in the title.
3. Proposal submitters need not be ILCA members.
4. Submitters are limited to submitting no more than two (2) proposals.
5. All information presented during Conference Sessions will be presented in English. Proposals must be submitted in English.
6. Abstracts that are not submitted by the published deadline will not be reviewed or considered.
7. Submissions with incomplete status cannot be reviewed or considered.
8. Submission of a proposal constitutes a commitment by the author to present if accepted. Failure to present and register for the meeting, if not justified, will jeopardize future acceptance of proposals.
9. Clarity of expression will be considered in the review process. The overall quality of language used should assure comprehension by the reader. Proof-read your abstract carefully to avoid errors.
10. Presenters will be required to disclose to the audience any real or apparent conflict(s) of interest that may have a direct bearing on the subject matter of the continuing education activity. This includes disclosures of any financial interest/arrangement or affiliation with any organizations that could be perceived as a conflict of interest in the context of their presentation subject matter.
11. Speakers are not permitted to advertise or distribute commercial materials in their session. No advertising is permitted outside the Exhibit Hall. Anyone violating this policy will not be invited to speak at a future ILCA conference.
12. Speakers selected for presentation will be notified of syllabus guidelines and procedures. There will be no handouts at the Conference. All material pertinent to the presentation is to be included in the syllabus.
13. All Concurrent Session speakers must register for the Conference. Speakers will receive complimentary registration for the day they speak. In addition, speakers will receive US$100 for each session presented to help defray personal expenses.
