The ILCA Annual Conference is the premier lactation education and professional development event of the year. The Conference provides a rich learning environment for lactation professionals, midwives, child and family health nurses, general practitioners, physicians, dieticians and nutritionists, breastfeeding counselors, researchers, pharmacists, nurses, doulas, policy advocates and other advocates who assist mothers and babies with breastfeeding. It offers current and aspiring International Board Certified Lactation Consultants® (IBCLC®) information on cutting-edge evidence-based practice and research in optimal breastfeeding care and support for mothers and babies.

The 2014 conference focuses on what mothers experience in the real world. What we teach is not always what mothers do!  Explore the choices, challenges, and customs of mothers in the real world. Leave the conference with a greater understanding and skills in helping mothers from diverse cultures and lifestyles fit breastfeeding for their lives.

A discounted rate of US$149 single/$169 double room will be given to ILCA registrations for room stays between July 20 and July 30, 2014. When reserving a room, be sure to mention that you are attending the ILCA Conference in order to receive the special ILCA discounted rate.

Reservations must be made by June 17, 2014, to be eligible for the discounted rate.

ILCA Members in North America will receive the conference brochure in the mail. Please email registrar@ilca.org if your copy does not arrive. Members in other parts of the world may receive a hard copy of the brochure upon request. Conferences fees are payable in US dollars. Please note you are responsible for any foreign exchange fees from other currencies.

Booking Your Air Travel
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the main airport serving the Greater Phoenix area. The hotel does not provide airport shuttle service. A special discount for conference delegates is available for transportation with Super Shuttle. You may reserve a discounted seat on Super Shuttle online at http://www.supershuttle.com/default.aspx?GC=ILCAX. For the discount, enter “ILCAX” in the Group/Discount field on the first page of the website when making your reservations. Discounts do not apply to exclusive vans or pre-existing reservations and only reservations made by booking and paying online will receive discounts.

Parking
Self-parking at the hotel is complimentary. For up-to-date rates on valet parking, please visit the hotel’s website.

Daily Shuttle Transportation
The JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa provides complimentary shuttle service for hotel guests to Desert Ridge Marketplace and CityNorth. When onsite, please pick up a copy of the shuttle transportation times at the hotel front desk. Copies will also be available at the Conference registration desk.

Most Canadian citizens and many citizens from Visa Waiver Program countries can enter the United States without a visa if they meet certain requirements.
