Dick Padlo

Richard (Dick) Padlo

Dick Padlo was raised in the suburbs of Chicago. He started his professional career by enlisting in the U. S. Air Force and a short time later, earned an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. After graduation, Dick held numerous leadership positions before serving as a base commander in Germany. He moved into the private sector, managing a Fortune 500 enterprise, and later built a technology start-up into a financial success. His transition to the non-profit sector involved a successful effort to help revive an international nonprofit by guiding the board in a strategic initiative to refocus their organizational vision and streamline the mission. More recently, Dick designed the strategy and infrastructure for a regional collaboration among cross-sector coalitions to develop a common regional agenda to help those in poverty build a better life. Dick holds a Master’s in Business Management from Central Michigan University.

Dick’s wife, Dedra, is a former special education teacher and mental health therapist who now works as a holistic health coach. Dick and Dedra have one son, Scott who is a high school freshman.

A North Carolina native, Jessica Lytle moved to Northern Virginia shortly following her graduation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There she discovered the field of association management and has been working for large national associations since 2000. Desiring to raise her kids in North Carolina, Jessica and her family moved to Raleigh in 2013. Jessica joined ILCA with a varied background in association management having worked for both trade and professional associations. Her primary focus has been membership development but she also brings much experience in strategic planning, conference planning, program management and member benefit programs. In her free time, Jessica loves to spend time with her husband and two sons.

Amanda Joslin graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, USA with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration (International Business) and Bachelor of Arts (Spanish). Prior to accepting this position, she served as an Account/Traffic Coordinator and Meeting Planner with TCL Institute, LLC. Amanda also brings experience as a Manager of Marketing Services for Captive-Aire Systems, Inc., which will be invaluable for ILCA in marketing the conference.

Judi Lauwers is a founding ILCA member and has been active in the association in various capacities since 1985. She served on the JHL staff and the conference committee, and held positions as conference planner in 1989-1990 and as Director of Professional Development and Research in 1995-1996 and 2002-2004. She was appointed ILCA’s Interim Education Coordinator in 2004 when the position was developed and was later hired as Education Coordinator. Judi is cofounder and retired Executive Director of Breastfeeding Support Consultants where she worked extensively in developing educational materials and programs, and managing conferences. She is coauthor of Counseling the Nursing Mother: A Lactation Consultant’s Guide, and the parent’s book, Breastfeeding Today.

Originally from Gaithersburg, Maryland, Ashley Lehman graduated from Elon University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and decided North Carolina was where she was meant to stay. After graduating from Elon, she worked as a Media Supervisor at an insurance marketing company. In early 2010, Ashley joined the ILCA team as an administrative manager, assisting with the publications and membership departments. In her free time, Ashley loves to watch movies, spend time with her husband and her dog, Daisy, and vacation at the Walt Disney World resort every chance she gets.

Erin Barnette graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Communications. In June of 2011, Erin joined the ILCA team as an administrative manager, assisting with the publications and membership departments. With a strong background in customer service, Erin enjoys being able to meet new people every day and feels like she is in just the right industry to do so. Outside of work, Erin enjoys cooking, spending time with her family, vacations to the beach, and attending sporting events.

Lisa Joncich has lived in Raleigh for 19 years after relocating from California. She graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. Prior to working for ILCA, she worked for a wireless communications company for 10 years holding positions in accounting, customer service management and inventory management. Lisa is married to her husband, Aaron, and has three children ranging in ages from five to seventeen. In the rare moments when she is not spending time with her kids, or shuttling them to various activities, she enjoys mystery/suspense novels and movies.
