Dick Padlo
Executive Director
Richard (Dick) Padlo

Dick Padlo was raised in the suburbs of Chicago. He started his professional career by enlisting in the U. S. Air Force and a short time later, earned an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. After graduation, Dick held numerous leadership positions before serving as a base commander in Germany. He moved into the private sector, managing a Fortune 500 enterprise, and later built a technology start-up into a financial success. His transition to the non-profit sector involved a successful effort to help revive an international nonprofit by guiding the board in a strategic initiative to refocus their organizational vision and streamline the mission. More recently, Dick designed the strategy and infrastructure for a regional collaboration among cross-sector coalitions to develop a common regional agenda to help those in poverty build a better life. Dick holds a Master’s in Business Management from Central Michigan University.

Dick’s wife, Dedra, is a former special education teacher and mental health therapist who now works as a holistic health coach. Dick and Dedra have one son, Scott who is a high school Senior.


Operations Director
Jessica Lytle

A North Carolina native, Jessica Lytle moved to Northern Virginia shortly following her graduation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There she discovered the field of association management and has been working for large national associations since 2000. Desiring to raise her kids in North Carolina, Jessica and her family moved to Raleigh in 2013. Jessica joined ILCA with a varied background in association management having worked for both trade and professional associations. Her primary focus has been membership development but she also brings much experience in strategic planning, conference planning, program management and member benefit programs. In her free time, Jessica loves to spend time with her husband and two sons.

Jennifer Rothman
Jennifer Rothman joined ILCA in 2015 with 8 years of experience in non-profit work. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in General Psychology from NC State University. Prior to joining the ILCA team, Jennifer was a Program Director for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) North Carolina. Originally from northeastern Pennsylvania, Jennifer has been living in Raleigh, N.C. for 16 years. Jennifer enjoys a team approach, working towards the same goal to meet the needs of all members.
Jessica Garrett
Conference Manager
Jessica Garrett
Jessica Garrett is a graduate of West Virginia University, where she majored in Public Relations with a minor in Business Administration. Following graduation she moved to the Washington, DC area and discovered the world of associations. She worked in meetings, exhibits and sponsorships for the School Nutrition Association for seven years before relocating to Raleigh in late 2013 for warmer weather and less traffic. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys running, college football & basketball and visiting friends at the beach.

Membership Coordinator
Kelly Cain

Kelly Cain has lived in Cary for 8 years with her husband, Mike and their two kids. She is originally from Alexandria, VA, right outside of Washington, D.C. Kelly attended Radford University in Virginia.  She brings over 16 years of administrative and office management experience in the non-profit and higher education fields.  Kelly’s experience with association management, specifically in membership relations, has led her to join the ILCA team as the Membership Coordinator.  Kelly enjoys spending all of her free time with her family either going on vacations to Topsail Beach here in North Carolina where she went as a kid, or just hanging out together at home watching Doctor Who or Marvel movies. She also loves to knit and read when she can.


Administrative Coordinator

Courtney Smith
Courtney Smith joined ILCA in 2015 and has 10 years of experience in event planning and management. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from North Carolina State University in Religious Studies, with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic. Before working with ILCA, Courtney worked with the Helps Education Fund to promote literacy among elementary school children.  In her spare time, she loves playing with her daughter, and enjoys being outdoors.

Judi LauwersAccreditation Manager
Judith Lauwers, BA, IBCLC
Judi Lauwers is a founding ILCA member and has been active in the association in various capacities since 1985. She served on the JHL staff and the conference committee, and held positions as conference planner in 1989-1990 and as Director of Professional Development and Research in 1995-1996 and 2002-2004. She was appointed ILCA’s Interim Education Coordinator in 2004 when the position was developed and was later hired as Education Coordinator. Judi is cofounder and retired Executive Director of Breastfeeding Support Consultants where she worked extensively in developing educational materials and programs, and managing conferences. She is coauthor of Counseling the Nursing Mother: A Lactation Consultant’s Guide, and the parent’s book, Breastfeeding Today.

Education Manager
Cynthia Good Mojab, MS, LMHCA, IBCLC, RLC, CATSM

Cynthia Good Mojab, MS, LMHCA, IBCLC, RLC, CATSM, is a clinical counselor, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, author, and internationally recognized speaker. She is the Director of LifeCircle Counseling and Consulting, LLC where she focuses on perinatal mental health care, including the provision of lactation-compatible mental health care. She also provides education, training, and consultation services to individuals and organizations seeking to increase cultural competence/humility and dismantle institutional oppression. She formerly served as Research Associate in the Publications Department of La Leche League International and was on the faculty of Parkland College. She has authored, contributed to, and provided editorial review of numerous publications related to breastfeeding, culture, and psychology. She has lived biculturally and bilingually for nearly 30 years.
