IBCLC® Day was Wednesday, March 6, 2013
This year's slogan was "Connect with IBCLCs, the Experts in Breastfeeding Care." This theme supported ILCA’s vision that the IBCLC is the globally recognized professional authority in lactation by highlighting the extensive expertise that IBCLCs provide breastfeeding mothers and babies to help them reach their breastfeeding goals.
Not only is IBCLC Day intended to recognize and celebrate the value of IBCLCs, it is also serves as an opportunity to educate employers, mothers and other healthcare providers of the extensive training IBCLCs have completed and maintain through continuing study that makes them uniquely qualified to provide current, evidence based support to breastfeeding families.
Although IBCLC Day 2013 has passed, there are ways you can continue to spread the word about IBCLC expertise throughout the year. ILCA Members: Visit the IBCLC Day page under the Members Only / Member Resources tab for additional free downloads to help you market your expertise!
You can also increase awareness by distributing ILCA's IBCLC Day promotional products. Although designed for IBCLC Day, mention of the event was intentionally left off, making them perfect to use year round.
Be sure to visit the ILCA Store for items related to this year’s theme, as well as items available from previous years. In addition to a colorful poster, ILCA has several promotional items available that make great prizes for staff and recognition gifts for IBCLCs. This year’s items include:
