ILCA Knowledge Center

After registering for a live webinar or purchasing an ILCA educational offering onDemand from the ILCA Store, individuals will be granted access to the view the materials in the all-new ILCA Knowledge Center.

You spoke, and we listened.  We heard loud and clear that the ILCA CERPs onDemand site was hard to access and not user friendly.  So we created a new and improved system, designed for ease of use, so you can focus on your learning.

All Knowledge Center materials are accessed and completed online.  Experience how quickly and smoothly you can review materials, complete a brief quiz and evaluation, and obtain your certificate. Individuals may access their purchased materials for up to 90 days from the date of purchase*.

*Note: Upon completing the materials and obtaining a certificate, individuals access to materials will be removed.  This allows for ILCA to keep the service affordable for its members.

Overview of ILCA's Continuing Education Offerings and Credits

Target Audience
The target audience for ILCA’s continuing education activities includes anyone within the healthcare arena who has contact with breastfeeding mothers and babies. This includes IBCLCs, RNs in specialty areas and advanced practice; LPNs; physicians in pediatrics, neonatology, family practice, OB-GYN, and ENT; physician assistants; dieticians; pharmacists and others involved in supporting the breastfeeding family.

Continuing Education Credit
Continuing education credit is based on a 60-minute hour. Approvers of continuing education credit will grant credit only one time for an educational offering. Because many ILCA conference sessions are posted for online viewing as well, be aware that you can receive credit only one time for any particular conference session.

ILCA is a long-term provider with the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® for Continuing Education Recognition Points (CERPs). Credit is available in L (lactation), E (ethics) and R (related) CERPs. IBLCE® Approval Number CLT-108-7.

Nursing Contact Hours
ILCA is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Those who need to record an ANCC approval number for nursing contact hours may use this ID number: P0286.

Dietician Contact Hours
The Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing agency for the American Dietetic Association accepts hours obtained for live presentations such as the ILCA Annual Conference without prior approval by the CDR. The CDR will accept ILCA study modules because we are a long term provider with the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC). When recording study module contact hours on the CDR Activity Log, indicate the provider as "ILCA (ANCC)" to receive credit.

The American Medical Association will accept participation in a live program without prior approval for CMEs if it qualifies for AMA PRA Category 2 Credit™. More information is available at: ILCA conferences and live webinars qualify for this category.
