CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT - PRE-CONFERENCE

ILCA is an approved provider of Continuing Education Recognition Points (CERPs) with the IBLCE®. Our approval number is CLT-108-7. The pre-conference is approved for 4 CERPS. ILCA is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Our approval number is ILCA-P0286. Accepted for BRN credit by the Board of Registered Nursing. The pre-conference is approved for 4 Contact Hours. This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) by Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Connecticut Children’s Medical Center designate this educational activity for a maximum of 4 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits(s).TM Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES

  • Disseminate research related to human lactation and encourage its integration in clinical practice.
  • Facilitate greater development of cultural humility among lactation specialists.
  • Promote ethical, evidence-based practice that protects the wellbeing of breastfeeding/chestfeeding/lactating families in diverse contexts.
  • Promote breastfeeding/chestfeeding as the biological norm for feeding and nurturing infants and young children.
  • Promote equitable access to lactation, skilled lactation care, and the IBCLC® profession.
  • Promote support of families' informed decisions regarding lactation.
  • Promote lactation-supportive practices in health care, social service, and community settings.
