ILCA Policy Statement on Creating a Safe and Inclusive Environment
ILCA is an equal opportunity volunteer organization and employer committed to principles of the broadest form of diversity. We foster an inclusive environment that supports leadership, advocacy, professional development, and research from varied perspectives. We support global access to skilled lactation care and the IBCLC profession. Therefore, speech and actions that create an unsafe space for employees, volunteers, or attendees at ILCA conferences or other public forums, who are members of social groups historically or systematically targeted by systems of oppression, are not permissible. This includes, but is not limited to, engaging in oppressive language and behavior on the basis of race, sex, class, gender identity/expression, religion, sexual orientation, age, nationality, ethnicity, and ability.

Accessibility for All Attendees
ILCA works hard to ensure that the conference is accessible to all of our attendees. For questions about accessibility or to request accommodations please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Two weeks advance notice will allow us to provide seamless access. Accommodations at ILCA include but are not limited to: wheelchair accessibility; reserved seating for those with mobility, hearing, and/or vision differences; accommodation of service animals; and American Sign Language interpretation (as requested).
Information for Families & Babies
We support families! ILCA welcomes infants-in-arms and non-separating children to our conference. We ask that you be mindful of the needs of your children while being sensitive to other conference attendees. A room will be set aside with a refrigerator and comfortable seating for families and for those who would like to express and store their milk. Please bring your own breast/chest pump.
Prepare to experience one of the most popular cities in the United States from its wine scene to its world renown natural beauty. ILCA Conference organizers have selected tours that bring visitors from around the world to experience the Best of the Pacific Northwest, including tours around the city of Portland, Multnomah Falls & Gorge Waterfalls, as well as Oregon Wine Country and the Coast. Conference participants, family, and friends are invited to participate on these tours. Click HERE for more information.
Parade of Flags Volunteers
All volunteers who have signed up to participate in the Parade of Flags should gather at 7:30am on Thursday, 19 July in preparation for the Opening Ceremony. Registrants had the opportunity to select whether they would like to participate when they completed the registration process. If you are already registered for the conference and are interested in the Parade of Flags, but did not mark it on your form, then please contact email@example.com.
Scholarship Fund Raffle
This year, ILCA will be raffling off donated items, including an iPad. All funds collected through the raffle will go to ILCA’s General Scholarship fund. You may purchase raffle tickets at the conference, and must be present to win.
