CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS

ILCA currently offers four types of continuing education credits. These credits are based on a 60-minute hour, and approvers of continuing education will grant credit only one time for an educational offering.

IBCLC CERPs: ILCA is a long-term provider with the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® (IBLCE®) for Continuing Education Recognition Points (CERPs). Credit is available in L (lactation), E (ethics), and R (related) CERPs. ILCA's IBLCE approval number is CLT-108-7.

Nursing Contact Hours: ILCA is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Those who need to record an American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) approval number may use ID Number: P0286. Accepted for BRN credit by the Board of Registered Nursing.

Dietician Contact Hours: The commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing agency for the American Dietetic Association, accepts hours obtained for live presentations, such as the ILCA Annual Conference, without prior approval by the CDR. The CDR will accept ILCA study modules, because ILCA is a long-term provider with the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC). When recording contact hours on the CDR Activity Log, indicate the provider as "ILCA (ANCC)" to receive credit.

Physician Credit: ILCA applies for CME approval for the annual conference each year. Approval indicates that the activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Credits are AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
