Jean Whittaker Malawi Photo Album

"Taken in a village called Kendekesa ….a mother with her breastfed twins. Multiple births are very common, in fact the clinic I worked in previously has six month old quads doing well."
"The road I take to get to Mtambo runs between the fields growing maize (staple food) and tobacco (cash crop)".
A typical village house in Malawi with a plastic sheet covered with grass for the roof and a grass door.
Jean writes: "This is a photo of a bridge I cross on the way to one of the villages- the water was not high this day. In the rainy season you can't actually see the road. Once I went too close to the edge for comfort. The ladies do their washing here."
