| IBCLC Day Activities |
To help you plan your IBCLC Day activities (and make it as
successful as possible), I've collected and listed ideas for
you. Use as many or as few ideas as you need... and don't be
afraid to use your own creativity!
Attend a City Council Meeting prior to IBCLC Day to allow the
Mayor to issue the
IBCLC Day Proclamation to kick-off activities.
Decorate your offices, hospitals, clinics, doctor's offices,
pharmacies, and other public places with ILCA balloons and
IBCLC Day Posters.
Wear your ILCA and IBLCE pins!
Give a speech on the role of the IBCLC to your community at
the local library, hospital, clinic, or other local
organizations, such as the Lions Club.
Invite a speaker into your organization.
Have a drawing to give away a breastfeeding promotion t-shirt.
Contestants will receive some breastfeeding-related
information when they enter.
Encourage the media to visit your location on IBCLC Day. Use
the IBCLC Day sample press release to convey information about
your event.
Give special recognition awards to area IBCLCs who conduct
outstanding work!
Honor the new IBCLCs in your community with a special
recognition ceremony.
Create an IBCLC Hall of Fame - posting photos of IBCLCs and
mothers, or a scrapbook or a poster located in a prominent
