IBCLC and ILCA member, Elaine Miranda (left), from St. John's
Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, New York, celebrated World
Breastfeeding Week with a wonderful event. She had
representatives from a large chain store come to their
facility, offering many pamphlets on breastfeeding, pumps,
books, and gift baskets for mothers. Also, Amanda Brenes
(right) helped to promote and protect breastfeeding.

annual Breastfeeding Caravan between Manhattan and Brooklyn.
 In
New York, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney and pediatrician Dr.
Susan Vierczhalek, chair of the NY Breastfeeding Section 3 of
the American Academy of Pediatrics, joined breastfeeding
advocates on a subway ride between Manhattan and Brooklyn in
the 3rd annual subway 'Breastfeeding Caravan'. |
