USLCA
The United States Lactation Consultant Association, the U.S. national affiliate for ILCA, has been formed specifically to address the needs of lactation professionals in the United States.  Visit the USLCA website to learn about services that can help WIC staff, including liability insurance! 

Becoming IBCLCs
The International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) offers numerous pathways that can assist WIC staff in becoming IBCLCs.  Visit their website to learn more.  Check ILCA’s online bookstore for professional resources, and our Independent Study Modules that can help staff preparing for the exam.

Several WIC state agencies have implemented in-state programs to train staff and provide mentoring roles to prepare staff for the IBCLC.  ILCA applauds these efforts which build a strong base of lactation support within the WIC community.
